 ... the beginning with it's discovery in South America, right up to modern times and it's uses today. ***Opinion*** I like these books because not all children wish to read fiction all time and these books are a nice size to get to grips with a subject. Often, lengthy books might put children off - even if they are interested in the subject. The book is well laid out and includes a note to parents at the beginning and I have to say that even though this book is aimed at children - parents can learn a thing or two! ...more

Polin ***The Book*** Luckily both of my children love reading - however, my son prefers non-fiction and when he first started to read alone I bought him a few of these Dorling Kindersley Reader books. The books are based upon non-fiction themes in an easy to read format.
