 ... the money. The only thing that very slightly lets this book down, is the fact it has no pictures, but thats really not a problem. Packed with the most basic of recipies - and i mean basic - such as how to boil an egg etc. I like how it caters for people who can't cook at all, to the more confident cook. The recipies slowly get more advanced as you build your confidence, but none of the recipies in this book are by any means difficult and best of all, they can be cheaply made - but certainly don't look it. Although i wasn't a student at the time, i probably had about as much money as one. I needed to learn some interesting recipies for someone on a fairly low budget, but were realistic at the same time. Good simple food. Cooking has never been a problem for me, it's something i can do and have done it several times as a job. I just needed some inspiration. This is a fantastic book and well worth the money. The only thing that very slightly lets this book down, is the fact it has no pictures, but thats really not a problem. When leaving for university, unlike most other Freshers, the thought of leaving home did not scare me in the slightest; I can cook, clean, do laundry, organise myself and have no fear of meeting new people at all, so naturally I was extremely excited to be starting University up north in bonny Scotland.
