When I choose to read a fantasy / sci-fi novel, I rarely know what I'm going to get. The only communication I have on the quality of some titles is with my brother, adambrown400, and that is usually only with the Science Fiction Masterworks collection, and I'm the only one of us that ever reads 'high fantasy' anyway, so the damning overriding factor in choosing such a novel more often than not comes down to the cover. And David Farland's "The Sum of All Men" has a really good cover. After all, with 'high fantasy' the blurb on the back always sounds the same, with wizards and looming war, a magical object to be found, an evil ...  Read the complete review
