Let's Meet on Platform 8 - Carole Matthews
by abbadabbado - written on 25/08/09 (Very useful, 67 readings)
Rating:
After hearing quite a bit about Carole Matthews as an author, I knew I had to give one of her books a go. The first one I happened upon was "Let s Meet on Platform 8", which I stumbled on through readitswapit. Teri is a single girl who is constantly on the lookout for her Mr Right. She can never find anyone that will treat her properly. Not wanting to give up hope, Teri dreams of finding her perfect man. She literally bumps into Jamie one day whilst waiting for the tube on her way home from work. Jamie knocks her to the ground, giving Teri sore knees and dented pride. After some angry moments, and a few tears, Teri realises Jamie isn t a big oaf who deliberately ...

by chicklitreviews - written on 15/06/09 (Very useful, 54 readings)
Rating:
Sally decides what to do, she discovers that if The Beatles are right, and all you need is love, then everything else will fall into place. *MY REVIEW* Carole Matthews is a highly-acclaimed author and has novels out regularly - she has had two novels out every year for the past couple of years. As a huge fan of Carole s later novels that s great news to me that she s so prolific. I ve liked many of Carole s books (The Sweetest Taboo, With or Without You, The Chocolate Lovers Club & Diet and You Drive Me Crazy) however there have been a few I haven t liked (Let s Meet on Platform 8 & It s A Kind Of Magic). It two I disliked haven t put me off Carole so I was ...

Welcome to the Real World - Carole Matthews
by kingfisher111 - written on 23/08/07 (Very useful, 137 readings)
Rating:
to read and not too taxing on the brain! Of course it needed to be very entertaining and a thoroughly good read as well. I had read other books by Carole Matthews in the past so I suspected that her latest offering - Welcome to the Real World - would tick all my holiday reading boxes and I was not disappointed! Welcome to the Real World tells the story of frustrated wanabee Fern Kendal, a pub singer with a very complicated family to boot. At the start of the book, she is serving drinks and singing in the same pub whilst trying to support her brother Joe look after his asthmatic son. At the same time her mum throws her dad out after one dalliance too many so she ends ...
