I bought a copy of The Transition Handbook: From oil Dependency to Local Resiliance by Rob Hopkins a couple of weeks ago, and I am finding it a fascinating book. It has a foreword by Richard Heinberg (author of 'The Party's Over', 'Powerdown' and 'Peak Everything'). The book presents workable ways in which a community, whether it be a city, town, village, street, or any group of people, can think about ways in which to tackle the issues surrounding climate change, peak oil, and even the economic crisis we are currently experiencing, in such a way as to empower that community to take steps for their own wellbeing.
