The general jist of the story is this -
The book is centred around the character of Katie Byrne. It starts off when she is seventeen years old, her and her best friends Denise and Carly are avid amateur actors and talk of nothing but how, once they leave school, they are all going onto an acting college in New York.

As a busy mother of two young children, I feel I have had to postpone a few of my pre child hobbies, reading being one of them. In the last few months I have been trying to rekindle my hobby. Unfortunately I hadn't got any books that really appealed to me, I have a pile of the "non-starters", you know the ones, you really struggle repeatedly to get through the first few pages before you realise its just not going in!!
