The Truth about Love is Jane Elizabeth Varley's third novel, and in my opinion, it is just as good as her first two. Like her other books, it is a good story about modern day life and the trials and tribulations of modern relationships. It follows the lives of two women who are linked by living at the same address - Sally with her family in the main house and Anna in the basement flat. Sally is married to Edward and they have a two year old son called Louie. Sally's life would probably be pretty much ideal if it were not for the existence of Edward's first wife Pia who she feels threatened by for much of the time.
