Meet the identical O'Sullivan twins, Pat & Isabel. At fourteen they've just left their previous school, Redroofs, where they've spent the last year being head girls as well as tennis captain (Isabel) & hockey captain (Pat). Their friends, Mary & Frances Waters, are off to Ringmere, which is such a nice exclusive school where girls have their own bedrooms & studies, where the food is wonderful & where they wear evening dresses for dinner. In contrast, Pat & Isabel are off to St. Clare's "where anybody can go, and the dormitories take six or eight grils and aren't nearly as nicely furnished as the maids' bedroom are at home" as Pat tells ...
