This book came in a set of five similar books which I bought for my little girl for her birthday. I was drawn to these books as for only £9 I received five books which all came in a nice plastic carry case. Each book has a sturdy cardboard sleeve and the pages are quite thick too which is ideal for a toddlers hands. The books measure around ten inches by 8 inches so are nice and big which make them much easier for a toddler to handle. She likes to sleep all day and all night but she ... Read the complete review

The Very Lazy Ladybird is one of those wonderfully simple stories that is aimed at toddlers but that can work on so many levels. The Lazy Ladybird is so lazy that she hasn't learned how to fly. Bored with her current position she hatches a plan to find somewhere else to sleep without having to fly away to find that place. Hitching a lift from a variety of animals she starts her quest to find the perfect place to sleep.... The premise of the story is very simple and there's a wonderful surprise at the end which seems to delight no matter how many times the tale is told. The simplicity of the story also makes it an ideal book to go slightly off piste. ... Read the complete review

At this point a kangaroo hops past and the lazy ladybird hops into her pouch but decides that she can’t sleep there because it is too bumpy for her…as the story progresses we see the lazy ladybird hopping on to various different animals as she tries to find somewhere comfortable to sleep…but it proves futile as she is always out off ...
