"To overcome evil with good is good; to resist evil with evil is evil." Odd by name and odd by nature seems to be the opinion of many in Pico Mundo when faced with twenty year old Odd Thomas the grill chef extraordinaire. Many feel that he has some sort of gift in a psychic vein but those same people are slightly scared of Odd and those that associate with him, they don?t know the half of it. Odd Thomas sees dead people, but then by god, he does something about it, the dead come to Odd to seek retribution if they have been killed unfairly, they point him in the right direction to bring justice to their killers and in so doing ...

Shadowfires - Dean Koontz

Premium Review Return of the Living dead (290 words)

Let me start out by saying Deaan Koontz is a master at writing horror books. The one that i choose to talk about is Shadowfires which is a good book. You have three main people in the book. You have Rachael Leben(married to a rich tycoon), Eric Leben( married to Rachael also dreams of immortality) Ben Shadway(Rachael's friend). The story starts out by Racheal and Eric coming out of a law building, where they have just got their divorce. And Eric was outraged because Rachael had not tried to fight him about his money, she told him she just wanting a divorce. So he blindly walks out in front of a garbage truck. He is killed or so everone thinks. But Rachael knows a ...

irises become slit-like and his final appearance is so hideous that even a Vietnam veteran can be stunned into silence. PACE AND PERTURBATION Dean Koontz has once more come up with a novel that is hard to put down as you are swept along by the pace of the story. As the story involves several chases: that of Rachael to find Eric, that of Eric to find Rachael and that of Sharp to find both Eric and Rachael, the excitement and tension is heightened, as such situations always result in an increase in adrenalin and in this work the result is the same for the reader. I was certainly gripped by this story and found the book hard to put down. I am sure that you will ...
