The trade off is obviously that the stories are crammed in and the illustrations are shrunk, so that all the stories can be squeezed into this one book. 'This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch' fills just four A4 pages in this book, with miniature illustrations dotted around the text. The Walker Book of Bear Stories is exceptionally good value for money. You can pick up a copy from ebay and Amazon marketplace sellers from just £1 per copy. What makes it such an amazing buy, is that the stories it contains retail for a lot of money individually. One of the stories this contains that we love is 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen, which retails individually at £4.99. Our grandson's favourite in this book, the reason we bought this, is 'This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch' by Sarah Hayes which retails at £5.99 on its own.
