I've only recently read this and I can imagine that even though it isn't typically aimed at people in my age group some others might enjoy it just as much!
It isn't as well known as some of Jacqueline Wilsons other childrens novels which is a shame because I think it might very well help those who are having the same kind of worries.
The actual book is split into seven short stories but it all features a website which was set up by a school teacher, Mr Speed, a young teacher who, although quiet has a streak of authority about him. To try and get the youngsters to talk about their problems anonymously the site gets invented. His first plan was to get the class in a circle and discuss them that way, however when one little boy mentioned that he wet himself Mr Speed quickly figures out there's other ways to go about it.
Each section is based on an individual child, those being :-
Holly-worried that she'll be getting a new step mum
Greg-likes a girl in his class but can't tell her that he does
William-a defeatest boy who believes himself to be useless at everything
Samantha-still upset that her Dad has left the family to live with his new girlfriend
Lisa-a girl whos' Dad is an alcoholic
Natasha-wants to be involved in the school concert but feels unable to because she is disabled and uses a voice machine.
Not something which often happens but the story of Lisa was written by Lauren Roberts as part of a competition that she won and I think that had it not of been mentioned, I would of thought that all of the short stories were written by Jacqueline Wilson.
Like a lot of her novels she has managed to delve into the role of writing a good story whilst also involving aspects which could occur to children of that age. It's a good read and also quite short so is perfectly easy to enough for anybody to read in one sitting.
