Completely uninspired by modern childrens books I referred to the memory banks and decided to try a classic - the Worst Witch series, I remembered them being good but couldn't remember the stories at all. This book sees another term at Miss Cackles Academy for Witches. The central character is Mildred Hubble and her cat Tabby, a completely disorganised witch and her "enemy" is the top witch of the class Ethel Hallow with her cat Nightstar. I have a number of guilty pleasures, but my biggest one must be "The Worst Witch". I enjoyed the books when I was younger, I loved the TV series later, and have never grown out of either. This resulted in me as a 23 year old being excited to hear that Jill Murphy was to publish a 6th book in her Worst Witch series, and to come back on it's release day the proud owner of a nice new hardback copy.
