so I m always on the lookout for new material about him. Although one of the key figures of the Tudor age, relatively few books have been written about him. Robert Hutchinson s effort is an attempt to rectify that, and is largely successful, albeit with some fairly significant "BUTs..." First, the background. Thomas Cromwell was Henry VIII s Chief Minister throughout the 1530s.
