When I was pregnant with Elijah, I hired this book from the library to try and prepare and explain to Noah exactly what was happening. The book is written by Giles Andreae after he experienced child birth with his first two children and finding that there wan't many books around that explained the process. The story is told through the eyes of a little boy. He observes what is happening to his mum who is pregnant. The little boy touches on how the mummy is very tired all of the time, how she feels sick and other ailments us women suffer throughout pregnancy. The story isn't very long and the text is very child friendly. It rhymes in a ... Read the complete review

It's written by Giles Andreae who I think is also Purple Ronnie, so as you can imagine it has very catchy, rhyming text. It's written from the point of view of the little boy (i.e. big brother) and it's expressed how a child would explain things, for example - '...because there's not a bed, there's a sort of giant bathtub where the baby sleeps instead...' and my favourite phrase in the book is 'Mummy's tummy house'. It just goes through the different side effects of pregnancy such as mummy ... Read the complete review

Going to live in France - Alan Hart
Factual, easy to source individual information, extremely well written.
Slight changes in law, but nothing to make the book lose value.
Lost City - Clive Cussler
A nice easy to read story, decent characters
A couple of slower paragraphs that almost lose what is normally a fast pace
Death in a Strange Country - Donna Leon
Enjoyable read
The ending is a bit disappointing
In Search of a Distant Voice - Taichi Yamada
Original and very readable
None
Good Food: 101 Seasonal Salads
The Rule of Four - Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomason
The bits about the "Hypnerotomachia Poliphili" are pretty interesting
The rest is just a standard thriller novel
Firecracker - Sean Stewart
Interesting premise, good start
Unlikeable characters, does not actually go anywhere

Grips you so hard that you almost feel you are there with the characters!!
Starts slower than the first book but builds to an incredible crescendo that leaves you gasping!!
