Plot Outline

"Time is a resource. Everyone knows it has to be managed"
This, the 26th novel by Terry Pratchett in the Discworld series, is a novel containing three stories. The first is based around Jeremy. Jeremy is a clockmaker with a very obsessive nature. He wants to make the perfect clock. He is by far the best clock worker, but he was kicked out of the clock maker's guild as he is so obsessive, even by their standards. The auditors, who audit the world, want him to make a perfect clock as well, so they send Lady Myria to help him out.
The second story focuses on Suzan, whom Death sends in his stead to appose the auditors, as he is not supposed to work against them. There are other reasons as well which are mentioned in the novel.
The final story is based around Lobsang Ludd and Lu Tze, otherwise known as the sweeper.
Ludd is a thief in Ankh-Morpork until he is discovered by the Monks of History. He is given over to the Sweeper after he is found to be a difficult pupil, due to him knowing everything the teachers are trying to teach.

The stories interweave towards the end of the novel where they must fight against the auditors and save Time herself, aided by the five horsemen of the apocalypse.

My Feelings

The sweeper is a great character and has appeared in other Discworld novels before this one.
The book is funny and charming with loads of memorable characters and quotes. The plot is well thought out and there are some interesting, and often hilarious theorems discussed in the book, always relating to time. Nanny Ogg also makes an appearance which i loved. A cheeky old lady makes any book a fun read.
The three sub stories join seamlessly and the split between them is well done.

In Summary
This is a masterfully written book with a twist or two at the end. The characters are full and believable and the Pratchett wit is in abundance. It took me two sittings to read and i didn't want to put it down. There is also a couple of moments where you come quite close to shedding a tear or two. Especially at the end.
Loved it.
A definite recommend!!!
