A good book, but not as funny as the rest (Thief of Time - Terry Pratchett)
Member Name: Atchoo
Advantages: Well written, It's a Discworld Novel Disadvantages: Not as funny, Some complex Ideas, Inconsistencies with other time theories
This is by no stretch of the imagination Terry Pratchett's geratest Discworld book to date. In total I laughed out loud only three times- I won't say specifically but it was to the back of the book as the story drew to a conclusion. The book itself contains some intersting ideas on time (which aren't necessarily true and so partly detract from the overall book). The book iteslf introduces several new characters- the most liekly of which we will see in other book sis the fifth horseman of the apocalypse. One has to wonder what susan's actual puropse in the book was, other then to provide some amusing insights into the mind of a child, as well as paving the way for a later romance (perhaps in another book). Overall I am giving it 4/5 because I feel that it isn't up to Terry's usual funny standards. yes, the book is well written (as always) but unfortunately it has less funny moments which is what I primarily read discworld novels for.
