As someone who is a big, big fan of the disk world series, its hardly surprising to find that I simply love this book. Number 26 in the series, and right up there with the best of them, the thief of time is an invigorating read that fans and newcomers alike should not miss out upon. Filled with the usual Terry Pratchett humour and the usual wizardry that is his completely individual and unquestionably brilliant imagination, this book proves fantastic reading for people of all ages, while remaining addictive beyond belief!
Twist after twist, this is a book that will keep existing fans happy and bring along another band of followers, as for 12 of your hard earned pounds, this will privode as good a entertainment as you will find. While I would not say it is the best Terry Pratchett book I have ever read (because lets face it, some of his work is absolutely stunning), its not far off, and those who describe this book as a filler or stop-gap are talking nonsense (in my view)!
This particular outing sees some of the old trusted and recognised characters, coupled with some new imaginative ones, with a number of inter-related stories involving Sarah, Death, the monks who manage the even distribution of Time, Fifth Rider of the Apocalypse and many more.

For me, this was gripping and humorous to the point I could not put it down. Sitting proudly on my shelf, its only a matter of weeks before this books gets another read, and the longevity of this novel is quite unquestionable. Pratchett certainly does it again ? A must read book!
