The Fat Controller is a lovely little book in the My Thomas Story library. The book is blue and has a picture of the fat control with two trains behind him and the title in a blue banner and red lettering above. The back cover of the book has smaller pictures of other books available in the collection. THE STORY The book begins by giving us a page has information about the Fat Controller, Sir Topham Hat as his real name is. It tells us how he has loved trains ever since he was a little boy and he says how the engines can sometimes be as troublesome as the trucks.
