Advantages: Board book version easy for little hands to hold!

Disadvantages: -

I remember this book from my childhood and it was first published in 1968. It has been enjoyed by many generations since.

It is what can only be described as a lovely and old fashioned classic children's tale.

It is written by Judith Kerr who is also famous for the Mog books that some of you may have read or read to your children.

The RRP price of the boardbook version which I have is £5.99 and is available on line from stores such as Amazon and all good bookshops such as WHS and Waterstones. You may also be able to pick up a copy in the book section of any supermarket store.

The boardbook version is particularly useful for little hands to hold. It also has pages that can be wiped clean easily and tough pages so that it is difficult to damage. Excellent choice for 9+ months.

It is 28 pages long.

***The Tiger who came to Tea***
Has lovely, detailed and brightly coloured illustrations throughout the book which illustrate what is happening in the story.

It is a tale of a family who have a suprise visitor, a tiger, come to tea one afternoon. They invite him into their home and the story goes on to describe what he eats and drinks for his tea. He even goes on to open all the cupboards and drink all the water out of the tap!

When dad arrives home from work they tell him about what has happened. As there is nothing left to eat in the house the family decide to go out for tea.

Then they have to go shopping the next morning to re-stock the shelves.

****Verdict****
Lovely heart warming story that children (and adults) like to listen to and look at the pictures throughout the book.

Excellent!

Summary: Great classic enjoyed by many generations!
