The tiger that came to tea.

This is a tale I have been reading for many a year it is a children’s book
written by Judith Kerr.

This story is about a little girl called Sophie who is just settling down to tea when there is a ring on the doorbell .Who can it be? Its not the milkman he came earlier its too early for daddy.
The door is opened to a tiger. A gorgeous friendly tiger all orange and stripy with a white front.
The uninvited guest comes in and settles himself down to eat tea.

He eats all the sandwiches, the buns, everything all the time Sophie and her mum just accept him.
The tiger roams around the kitchen eating every thing he opens the fridge door and eats all the contents of the fridge, The tiger spots daddy’s tea cooking on the stove in saucep
ans he gulps them down, mummy and Sophie look a little worried. He drinks all the Milk he then drains the tap of water so no water for a bath!

When the tiger has eaten all he can find he very politely says thank you and leaves just like that!

Daddy arrives home shortly after and when he is told the tale he suggests they all go out for tea.
It is a dark night all the streetlights are on.They eat tea in a café and Sophie has ice cream for pudding.

Next day they visit the shops and buy a big can of tiger food, just in case the tiger calls again.

I love this book the pictures are bright and simple the tiger with his curly tail. The words are good are rhythmic and attractive to children it is fun to read. A young reader will enjoy reading this book by themselves.
I would recommend this book for ages between 3 and 6. Enjoy reading to your children. Thanks for reading this opp.

I think I will pretend the tige
r came to tea here and hope my husband suggests going out to eat.

Summary: A tiger visits at tea time .
