I enjoy watching Gary Rodes on televison, not his early apperances but later on in his cooking career, so I took a chance on one of his books and picked 'Time to Eat'. I took it home and read it back to back curled up on the sofa and even though I read it all, I wouldnt read it again. I like to look through and picked what I fancied at the time at first reading. Garys book comes in certain sections, Quick fixes, ready between certain times, Slow cooking and when you have all the time in the world to cook all day, aswell as the usual puds are thrown in at the end. I'm not a great recipe user (my cooking tends grab what is in the fridge, chuck it in a pan and see what comes out the other side!) but we received this book as a gift and I have to say I love it! There are 120 recipes ranging from the very simple but tasty salads to quite elaborate main courses - and of the quality you would expect form a chef like Gary Rhodes - but the thing that makes this book stand out from the rest is the way it is organised: not by ingredient or by type of dish but by how long it takes to prepare and cook.
