Advantages: King's wonderful writing style

Disadvantages: Aliens - he can't write well about aliens

It says horror on the back of the book. But it is really Sci-Fi. All about aliens. With the exception of Dreamweaver, King has never done very well with aliens. This is not his best book.

It is a very strange idea (but most of King's ideas are strange) A women discovers something in her backyard, as she starts digging it up she begins to change. Soon the whole town is changing and developing powers.

Only one person in the town is unaffected, and he is a drunk. Still it seems up to him to sort the whole mess out.

It is a Stephen King, so we have his wonderful and easy to read writing style. The story isn't bad, I just wish they were monsters and not aliens that were effecting the town. It would have made so much difference. Monsters, King can write about monsters.

All in all, a good book. Just not a great book.

Summary: A good book, but it would have been better with monsters!

I agree that aliens are not really his thing. The characters in this are interesting though.
