Bobby had been out walking with her faithful dog one day in the woods behind her home in Haven, Maine, when she found (well, tripped over actually), a piece of shiny metal sticking out of the ground. Her dog doesn't like it, as he whimpers and cowers away, but she is intrigued and starts to dig, completely losing track of time as she does so. It's ... Read the complete review

It says horror on the back of the book. But it is really Sci-Fi. All about aliens. With the exception of Dreamweaver, King has never done very well with aliens. This is not his best book. It is a very strange idea (but most of King's ideas are strange) A women discovers something in her backyard, as she starts digging it up she begins ... Read the complete review

This review will have to be based slightly more on the film aspect because i found the book was hard-going in most places, not recommended for people with absolutely no imagination. The book jumps from one character to another, until near to the end when all becomes a little clearer, although it is good for a writer to pay so much detail to most ... Read the complete review

Aliens are just not Kings strong point. I'm a huge King fan and Tommyknockers is one of the few i didnt like. It was slow so it took me literally forever to get into. I didnt find any of the characters engaging or attractive. I just couldnt warm to Tommyknockers at all. Generally I felt it lacked Kings usual energy and style. Its quite ... Read the complete review

Tommyknockers is another interesting read, much better than the film. Let your imagination run wild, if you were dubious about UFOs before, then you would be a true believer after reading this particular book. A UFO crash landed on earth many years before any kind of community moved into the area. When Bobbie was walking her dog ... Read the complete review

I enjoyed this book/film very much, as i didn't know what would happen next. You are kept sitting on the edge of your seat. It is not for kids though only adults as it maay be too scary for them. The acting and special effects were brillant in this film. So if you haven't seen it give it ago and watch it. And you can't put the book ... Read the complete review

This book will have you gripped. All Stephen King books are superb, but this one incorporates a touch more science fiction with the fantasy and horror. The story centers on Bobbie Anderson, who finds a strange object buried in her yard in Maine. The powers of the object compel Bobbie, closely followed by the rest of the town, to dig up ... This is another great novel by Stephen King which incorporates some science fiction with the horror. Yet another mammoth horror novel from King, this dark tale depicts a small town's fatal encounter with creatures from outer space. Events start with Roberta Anderson, a writer of Old West novels, unearthing a flying saucer on her remote wooded property. Five hundred pages later alcoholic poet Jim Gardener, Roberts's ... The Tommyknockers is one of my favourite King novels, although it was a bit of a flop as a film. The basic plot is how a presence manipulates a small American town. It starts with Bobbi Anderson walking her dog, she finds something in the ground and after touching it she is manipulated into digging it out of the ground. This thing also ... Tommyknockers tommyknockers knocking on the door! This is the best of Steven KIngs books that I have read yet, it gripped me from the first page and till I had finished it, couldn't put it down. When Bobbi Anderson tripped overa piece of metal in the woods behind her house, and decides to dig it up, she never dreamed just how long it would take her, and what would happen to her and all her friends before that piece of metal was out of the ground.
