This is a wonderful story of Topsy and Tim going on one of their adventures. At the start of this one we meet Topsy and Tim in their trademark dungerees going with their Mum to visit her friend who happens to be the farmers wife. At the farm they are given an egg box each and invited to go to the hen house and collect 6 eggs each. So they set off all alone down the farm path. The come across some hissing geese beside the hen house so they run inside where it is very dark. The book explains that it is not scary as their eyes become accustomed to the dark and they find some large white and speckled eggs.
