I've been to Spain lots of times. Once, years ago, I went to Spain twice in one day. Sort of. I left Germany and travelled to Barcelona, sat in their airport for an hour, and then travelled from there to Ibiza. Two journeys and two aeroplanes and landings in two Spanish airports on the same day. Topsy and Tim only got one of each, but they still had a lot of fun. It's been more than 40 years since the first Topsy and Tim books were published, and with all the other children's books that have come onto the market since then, it would be easy to forget about this terrific twosome. Luckily for children of the new millennium, the series is currently being ... Read the complete review

This is one of my boys' favourites in the Topsy and Tim series by Jean and Gareth Adamson. In this Topsy and Tim story the twins are going on their Summer holidays with Mummy and Dad, which means going on an aeroplane for the first time. Topsy and Tim take us through the terminals, up long escalators and along tunnels, explaining about luggage going on moving platforms and sweets stopping your ears from popping as the plane takes off. They meet the stewardess and the pilot and drive Dad a bit mad by fidgeting and swapping food in their special trays before arriving safely at their destination. This is a hardback Ladybird book, measuring 16.4 x 12 x ... Read the complete review

I grew up reading the wonderful Topsy and Tim books, there were so many in the range it got quite bewildering how many there were. The adventures the twins had were never ending and each book managed to be unique and fun. Who: Topy and Tim are two children, twins who seem to land themselves in mischief in every story. They are well-meaning though and each story usually ends happily with a little comic turn or a small moral behind the story When: The books I belive date right back to the late sixties, but are still being published to this day This story: The twins find themselves experiencing all the fun and thrills of in flight ... This is one of a series of Topsy and Tim books, about a young boy and girl pair of twins, and their everyday experiences. This book sees Topsy and Tim going off on their summer holidays in an aeroplane. The story is a detailed account, from a child's point of view, of the process of taking an aeroplane journey. The story begins with arriving at the airport and what its like in the terminal building, for example riding on escalators, checking in, seeing their luggage ride away and then boarding the plane. Once on the plane the stewardess gives them sweets to stop their ears hurting, they take off and see everything getting smaller, and then Topsy and Tim get ... Read the complete review
