"Stone Cold" by David Baldacci I picked this book up from the Bestsellers Table at our local library when rushing around madly a few weeks ago in preparation for a holiday up north. I knew nothing about the author, although the name did seem vaguely familiar, and I hadn t read anything about this particular book. It was a chunky looking book, so I thought it would keep me occupied for many a broadband-less hour on the farm. So did I borrow in haste, repent at leisure? Much like “dotchristine”, I too stumbled upon this author by accident. The first book of his I bought was Total Power. Quite simply, I could not put it down. When I finished it I went straight out and get another of his books, then another, then another. His writing keeps you on the very edge of your seat, you cannot wait to turn the next page. He writes with such understanding and detail that you think he must have had experience of all the characters he writes about – but that would be impossible, wouldn’t it? He characters are completely believable and the plots intriguing and highly detailed. I am an avid reader, particularly of thrillers and ...
