If you are looking for a compelling and non put-downable read then i can highly recommend the Three Sisters Island trilogy by Nora Roberts. I was given this book, the first of the trilogy, by a friend (a witch herself) and was absolutely glued from the turn of the very first page. The story is based around an island formerly inhabited by the ancestors of 3 witches who were brought back to the island to rid the island of a terrible curse.
