Truckers is the First Book of the Nomes, also known as the Bromeliad, a trilogy of children’s fantasy books by Terry Pratchett. It involves the Nomes (not Gnomes), who are visitors from another planet – though at the very start of the book they don’t realise this. They are very little people who are about 1 inch tall and move so much faster than us, which is why we can’t see them and these are their adventures in our world. Here we go again into the world of Terry Pratchett, this time the books called Truckers. A book which tells a story of Nomes and their families, of how they think, live and survive in a world of humans. Masklin is the hunter for the small group of Nomes which have dwindled in size since the last spring. Whilst PTerry is best known as the author of the best selling discworld series which, with their clever punning is aimed at the adult market he has also produced two successful children's series the nome trilogy and the Johny series - Truckers is the 1st in the nome trilogy. Truckers is the First Book in a series about Nomes .I picked this one because there are plans to bring out a movie off it next year .The nomes are little people (sort of like borrowers) who have came from another planet.At the beginning of the book they are fed up as numbers are dropping due to the fact they live outside and other animals are eating them or if they survive that nature is having a negative impact on their numbers.
