Advantages: A fantastic and touching read.

Disadvantages: ?

I am a sucker for autobiographies and will read almost anyone's I have heard of and even some from people I have never heard of but it is great when someone comes along with a real story to tell and when I read Martin Kemps that was exactly the case.

Martin is completely open throughout this book and tells of his struggle as a youngster and of knowing he had talent but watching his brother progress whilst he stood still and how it led to a bit of jealousy before he finally got his break.

What a career he has had since his big break though, starting out in a pop band (Spandau Ballet) and moving on to have a very successful career as an actor whilst in between times meeting up, dating and them marrying Shirley from the pop group Pepsi and Shirley and having kids.

His words come across as very sincere and he appears to be very thankful for the life he has had and he even goes on to talk of his brain tumour and his operation in a positive manor because he is clearly happy to have pulled through it and thankful for both what he has had and what he still has in front of him.

I enjoyed watching him in Eastenders and that is really when he came to my attention even though he had, had a big career by then and I did know of him and to read the book was very inspiring and it is without doubt a book I would recommend to others.

It is a very touching read and can cause a tear to roll down the cheek but at the same time it has many funny parts that will bring you to a huge smile.

A book with a bit of everything and one you can pick up easily these days for under a tenner making it a must read!

Summary: Recommended to everyone.
