This is volume one of a collection of real life stories, originally published in 1977, whereby people have put their greatest efforts into escaping what they regarded as unbearable situations. I received a free copy of this book after doing some work for the Reader's Digest and it has turned out to be one of the most enjoyable books that I have ever read. The book is made up of twenty six short stories detailing miraculous escapes, written from a first person perspective. At times, it can be quite overwhelming to realize what people are capable of and the forces behind their motivation. It would take too long to detail each one so I will detail the stories ...
