Poor ending ruins a good book (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer)

Advantages: Anti climaxed ending, not as good as previous three

Disadvantages: Two good twists in the middle

The idea of twilight was very promising, and the first three books were a great read. The whole saga is based on vampires, with a romantic side, mainly attracting a female audience, but also available for male viewers. The book gives a very different perspective, and certainly an interesting one on vampires. But I certainly would not recommend that anyone reads this book without a knowledge of the previous three, it would be a complete waste of time, the book is not that good with a knowledge of the previous three.

The trouble with Breaking Dawn is the ending, it is very disappointing, the build up is massive, and has built up over the previous books. But the ending is such a huge anti climax, it is certainly not worth waiting for. I cannot really say any more without ruining it for any readers.

There is a very good twist right in the middle of this novel though. Meyer successfully creates two plot twists that you could never see happening. Because of these, a large portion of the book in the middle section is a very good read, it makes for an engaging experience.

I cannot really say any more about this last novel in the Twilight Series. For the most part, the book is exciting, before it reaches a shocking and very poor conclusion that in my opinion ruins the whole experience. If you can bring yourself to do it, then the best thing to do would be to read the first three books in the franchise, and not read the final one, it would be worthwhile to do this, but in my opinion the last one would be too tempting not too read.
