My favourite Twilight book (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer)

I was very lucky with my timing on this one. Lurking in the children's section at Waterstones, I was waiting for two teenage girls to move away from the display so I could grab a copy of Breaking Dawn and the previous book, Eclipse. Very sad behaviour for a 28 year old married woman, but this is the effect these books have on you! My Twilight books have become my escapist bedtime reading and I have reread them countless times when I want to chill out!

Breaking Dawn had just been released as I had finished New Moon, so no waiting required to read right the the end! I promised myself that I would ration the remaining two books but by the end of the week I'd finished them both! (oops)

A lot of people didn't seem to be keen on Breaking Dawn. I loved it but I think that might be my stage in life. I was more interested in seeing Bella get her happy ever after with her man and her family than any further angsty teenage moments. I loved all of these but I really wanted to see the conclusion of where all the pain was leading, and I wasn't disappointed.

I thought that the ending of the book tied up all the main characters perfectly - meaning that Bella got to keep everyone who was important to her. I loved especially the descriptions of Bella and Edward's house and the closet that Alice had installed (why can't she be my sister?!)

I also loved the way that Bella's self control and closed mind carried over to her new life but expanded to allow her to protect everyone she loved from the Volturi. The best new characters to me were the Romanian vampires - sure one of them was Dracula in the past, and the development of Leah's character.

What would have made this perfect for me would have been a little summary of what happened to each character after the ending of the book. I'd love now to know what happened with Leah and Seth, see Sam and Emily's wedding and see how old Renesmee got and if she stayed at a young age forever.

Maybe in the future we'll get lucky and Stephanie will write some more in the same universe!
