Advantages: Fantastic ending to a fantastic saga

Disadvantages: It's the last book in the saga, I wanted it to continue

Breaking Dawn is the fourth book and final book in the 'Twilight' saga by bestselling author Stephenie Meyer.

It's a huge book almost double the size of the previous book, but once you start reading, the story involves you so much that you don't notice how long it is!

The book opens a few days before Edward and Bella's wedding. This is a huge moment for them, as once married Edward will have to change Bella into a vampire to obey the command of the Volturi, the leading council of vampires. The wedding is a beautiful day although Bella misses Jacob who has disappeared into Canada, unable to face watching Bella & Edward marry, however Jacob turns up at the end of the day and Bella feels her day is complete, surrounded by all the people that she loves.

Bella & Edward go to spend their honeymoon on a remote island off the coast of Brazil which Carlisle bought for Esme. After a couple of weeks, Bella realises that she is pregnant, horrified by the implications of what they have created Edward tries to convince Bella that they must terminate the pregnancy. Bella is determined to keep the child, she forms an unlikely alliance with Rosalie and refuses to allow anybody to harm her child even though she has no idea what she will bring into the world and knows that she may not even survive the birth.

This was a fantastic end to the saga, it wasn't just a simple happily ever after ending, you genuinely had no idea what the outcome of the book woud be, I won't spoil the ending, but suffice to say it was perfect! Again Stephenie Meyer manages to weave a story which is intense and compelling as well as incredibly easy to read. It's a story you don't want to end, especially knowing that this is the last part of the saga, but at the same time you're desperate to get to the end and know whether everything ends well.

I would recommend this book without any hesitation, but to read this saga from the beginning rather than starting with this book. You need to know what's gone in the other books and not just jump in with this one.

It's a fantastic book, I'm really sad this is the last one in the saga, but I'm looking forward to reading her new novel 'The Host.'

Summary: Highly recommended, but you need to first the earlier books first.
