A few months ago, I purchased a set of mini hardback children's books from www.bananas.co.uk and in amongst the collection was 'Two Monsters' by David McKee. McKee has written a number of books for young children, including the popular Elmer series and 'Not Now Bernard' which is loved by all the family. 'Two Monsters' is a relatively short story that is, unsurprisingly, about two monsters. The monsters are the only characters in the story and don't actually get to set eyes on each other until the final pages, as they live either side of a large mountain and can only communicate with each other through a hole in the side of a mountain.
