An Underground Education, by Richard Zacks, bills itself as 'The unauthorized and outrageous supplement to everything you though you knew about art, sex, business, crime, science, medicine, and other fields of human knowledge'. And it's crammed full of the kinds of things you always wanted to know, or didn't want to know, or didn't know you wanted to know. The best way to describe it is to give some examples of the kinds of topics it covers. It's an American book, so of course the 'history' section is divided into 'The World' and 'America'.
