The Unruly Life of Woody Allen is a biography by Marion Meade and was first published in 2000. The book is rather scant regarding Allen's films and work at times and instead focuses almost entirely on the infamous Soon-Yi/Mia Farrow mayhem of the early nineties which saw Allen's carefully controlled and reclusive persona dragged through the tabloids and gossip columns for a good couple of years with lingering and lasting damage to his reputation. Woody Allen was never going to be anything other than actor/director so he can transcend and survive his extreme nurosis and not top himself. The medium gave him the chance of self-therapy through celluloid and playing himself on screen. I have been b******d by the man with the golden ones who’s the self appointed community assistant for this catorgorie. Revealing too much of the book and not enough of my opinion on the thing is deemed in appropriate in the hallowed silence of the dooyoo library.
