UPFRONT AND PERSONAL is the autobiography of singer turned televison presenter Coleen Nolan. The autobiography contains 360 pages with many chapters. Nolan starts writing about her childhood which I found very boring. There were some interesting parts as she had such a big family, but most of it was dull. When it came to talking about her sister's starting to dance and sing hence forming The Nolan Sisters the book became interesting. The relationship with her sisters started off well, though spending so much time together meant it became strained. The insight into touring and performing is very good and although they all loved the limelight, ... Read the complete review

British singer and television presenter Coleen Nolan released her autobiography, Upfront and Personal, in April of this year, following its launch with a promotional tour around the country. To date, the 44 year old star has sold over 54, 000 copies, and I am just one of the many to purchase. As soon as I began to read the first page, I knew there was no going back. From the very beginning, I was hooked... 'Upfront and Personal' takes us through Coleen's life from when she was just a tiny baby, with a drawer for a cot, right to the present day where she shares her world with her much loved family: Ray, the boys, and Ciara. Across the 360 pages that make up the ... Read the complete review

I have enjoyed watching Coleen over the years and was looked forward to hearing her story in her words. It was fascinating to hear Coleen's view of her sisters careers prior to her joining them and to realise that she really did not have a lot of choice in her becoming part of the group due to missing so much school as the priority in her family was to play the clubs etc and earn a living. I thought it was interesting to hear more on her fear of arguments, as she has spoken of on 'Loose Women', as she describes very well her father's drinking and how it changed his personality and the terror she felt waiting for him to come home. It was touching ... Read the complete review

As a child, I was a huge fan of the Nolan Sisters. When I'm in the Mood for Dancing hit the charts in 1979, I was ten years old. Bernie was my favourite Nolan at the time and in recent years, I have enjoyed watching her acting in shows like The Bill. But in the last few years, Coleen has become my favourite. I love watching Loose Women and thought she did brilliantly in Dancing on Ice. I think she's a great mum too and can relate to a lot of what she talks about, when she is chatting about her kids on TV. So when I heard she had an autobiography coming out, I pre-ordered it from Amazon UK. It was released on April 27th and currently costs £8.49 ... Read the complete review

I have just finished reading this autobiography and i have to say i found it to be both extremely honest and interesting. I found coleens account of the breakdown of her first marriage to Shane richie quite thought provoking. I Found myself questioning if i could have been so "grown up" about the whole episode. I came the conclusion that she is one fiesty woman. Throughout the book there is the down to earth wit and charm that most people who watch loose women will immediately associate with coleen. She is not afraid to admit mistakes that she has made and therefore made me as the reader instantly connect with her. I also enjoyed reading about her childhood and ... Read the complete review
