Knowing how my grandchildren have enjoyed The Naughty Sheep written by Heather Amery and illustrated by Stephen Cartwright. I couldn't resist buying another book in the series called Kitten's Day Out. It is a 16 paged paper backed book also written by Heather Amery and beautifully illustrated by Stephen Cartwright. The RRP is £3.99 but can be bought cheaper at Tesco's and on line. ISBN 0746062141 I like the fact that all the books in the series have all been written with the help of a language expert to ensure that young children can succeed in developing their reading skills. 'Kitten's Day Out' by Heather Amery and Stephen Cartwright is one of twenty titles in the Usborne Farmyard Tales mini edition series. All of the stories revolve around Apple Tree Farm and the family that live there; Mr and Mrs Boot, Poppy and Sam and their dog Rusty. In each book the children have an adventure joined by the rest of the family or some of the other characters who live in the village. In this story Mr Bran has brough some food on his truck for teh cows to eat. Ted who works on the farm and Mrs Boot, Poppy and Sam all help to unload the truck.
