As many of you may know i have a real love of books, in particular anything from the vampire genre, so when i am visiting either bookshops or the library i am always on the lookout for something new (good or bad, i will give any book a try!).

I haven't seen anything for a while, so when i saw this particular book, with it's gothic looking cover i was instantly hopeful that a new series of books was on the horizen!

The book in question is written by Lynda Hilburn, an author i am not familiar with, but due to just how many new books have jumped on the bandwagon of success that the likes of "Twilight" and the "vampire diaries" have created, i wouldn't be able to keep up anyway!

Kismet Knight is a shrink, and a good one to boot, she finds it easier to sit and listen to other peoples troubles than to face and deal with her own issues.

After a particular new patient books herself in, she finds herself exposed to a new form of mental health issues, that being a teenage girl transfering her problems into a need to become someone else.....ie a vampire!

Is she really just a teenager with a problem, or is there something much more sinister?

As i started reading this i felt it had approached the subject matter in the way most people would, with disdain and sympathy for the obviously troubled and disturbed youngster, and even though you know this is a vampire book from that genre, you do initailly question whether the book will actually go that way.

As the book progresses there is of course the realisation that actually there is much more to this story than just teenage angst, and when bodies start being found the book does take a bit of a sinister turn.

I did enjoy this book, though i did find it tailed off a little towards the end, but not enough for me not to want to tread the next book in the series.

The main vampire, head honcho and Kismets apparent "soulmate", is portrayed as a blood sucking romantic, a bit Edward Cullen (Twilight), so i found his character very appealing, but the rival to the vampire throne, is actually a vampire that thinks he should be Deveruex's (head honcho!) boyfriend, so when he is spurned he becomes the character you would expect a blood thirsty vampire to be, though at times he does things that are really dark, i found myself quite disturbed after reading the sections with him in.

All in all this was a very readable book, with there being the obligatory blood drinking sections, and a fair bit of sex too, so this is a book about teenage angst, but not aimed at the teenage market, finally a grown up vampire book!
