If you prefer your vampires to be more on the lighter side, then you will enjoy Lyndsay Sands' Argeneau series. A Quick Bite is the first in the series (despite being written after book 2) and features Lissianna Argeneau, a member of a family of Canadian vampires. Poor Lissianna has a bit of a problem for a vampire - she faints at the sight of blood.
