Advantages: Large pictures, few sentences and a great price.

Disadvantages: None - but where's the sequel? The extremely hungry caterpillar?

This to be one of my favourite past time reads, it's just a wonderful story of an extremely hungry caterpillar with some good morals and story's along with it.

At about 15 pages long, as you read the story the kids get hooked into it and can't wait to see how the story will end. The caterpillar keeps munching and munching until... not that would be telling, and even for the adults amongst us who haven't read it I won't go spoiling the story.

The pictures in the book are remarkable, and I think what makes this such a well remember and popular book is the use of pictures and small amount of text. It's meant for pre-school children who want to be told a story, and that story must not be too long. Pictures work best because it allows the child to use the images to form the story in their own minds. With just a few sentences on each page it's just enough to keep the story flowing.

The book is in between the size of A4 and A3, so when unfolded it's quite a large book, but worth it for the pictures.

At around £5 from Amazon, you'll be silly not to buy a copy if you haven't already. Enjoy!

Summary: A fantastic read for all the children, let them enjoy the adventure of the hungry capterpillar.
