Visions in Death - J.D. Robb ... Lake in Central Park. Around her neck is a single red ribbon. Her hands are posed, as if in prayer. But it is the eyes - removed with such precision, as if done by the careful hand of a surgeon - that have Dallas most alarmed. As more bodies turn up, each with the same defining scars, Eve is frantic for answers. Against her instincts, she accepts help from a psychic who offers one vision after another - each with shockingly accurate details of the murders. And when partner and friend Peabody is badly injured after escaping an attack, the stakes are raised. Are the eyes a symbol? A twisted religious ritual? A souvenir? With help from her husband, Roarke, Dallas must uncover the killer’s motivation before another vision becomes another nightmare.

Introduction I’ve noticed quite a few books by J D Robb aka Nora Roberts recently and decided to try one out, although I don’t really know much about the author. The blurb on the back of the book looked OK, if a little pretentious; but then more often than not what’s on the back of the book is nothing to do with the author. What a mistake. What I hadn’t realised is that this series, featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, is crime fiction set at some point in the future. Not being keen on science fiction, I would have steered well clear of this. On top of that, there wasn’t much else to recommend it. The author The American author Nora Roberts has written over 100 novels, 86 ...

Another very scary thriller that us the supernatural ante.... Feels, at times, like a prelude to something bigger......by the pricking of my thumbs......

Outstanding writing None really

A clever story that spans over nearly a decade in it's entirety... Very bleak reading and not the nicest of stories...

Chilli is one cool cat, interesting structure Narrative sucks, no other compelling characters

Funny, deadpan writing that portrays a world of darkness and intrigue Not everybody may like Kurkov's style
