ITV Visual History Of The Twentieth Century.

I suggested this book to be added on DooYoo as I feel that lots of people will benefit from it.

Terry Burrows is the general editor, but the book has many contributions by other various editors.
It is published by Carlton Books.
I have the book in hardback and it has 576 pages, the cover is silver with blue writting, Itv is written in yellow, also on the cover of the book it has some black and white pictures.

The book spans from 1900 to 1999.
For each year it tells of the main headline news at that time with fantastic black and white pictures.
It is mostly two main headlines to one page, but some things are more than a page long.
Also it has a brief breakdown of general news for each month of every year.
The book has a detailed index at the back, to help you find what you are looking for with no problems.

This book would be ideal for school age children who are learning history at school, as this books covers everything from the suffragettes right through to the murder of Jill Dando and more.
Each headline is written in a clear easy to understand manner, each article is also jam packed full of facts, figures and dates.
For instance if I wanted to know when George Orwell died, I would look it up in this book and find that he died on January 21st 1950, I can also read about his life which is all accompanied with pictures.
If I want to read about Kurt Cobain's untimley death, I can with this book, I can also read about his life.

So this book really does cover it all, it is different to any other reference book that I have come across because of the way all the facts are presented. Its a must for any home.
Also not only is it an exceptional reference book it is also a really good read, it brings back many memories!

I was given this book as a gift, but such is my dedication I have done some research and found you can buy it for
£9.99 from Amazon.co.uk or for £17.99 from Bol.com.
I found it easy enough by searching under the name of the editor which as I stated above is Terry Burrows.

Tnak you so much for reading and I hope this helps.

Jenny.

It sounds like a very good book, I must get one of these. I saw a similar book the other day(more like an encylopaedia) with a listing for each day of the 20th century and the news every day. It sounds so good...I recommend it...|8-> Fergii
