Stalking the Angel - Robert Crais
by samueltyler - written on 18/09/07 (Very useful, 71 readings)
Rating:
thought that the story was pretty generic but Crais’ writing style is good enough to make this exciting. There will be no awards for originality from this, but the characters are well written and as always the action set pieces rock. Crais fans will love this whilst newer fans should start with a later book or one of his standalone titles. Overall, a great fun read that will not tax the brain cells. Free Fall - Robert Crais

Rating:
if the author was a white middle class older male whose closest links to the ghetto was reruns of ‘Coffee Brown’ on the TV, you may be in trouble. Robert Crais does not mean to be patronising in his novel ‘Free Fall’, but it sure came across that way to me. Elvis Cole and his silent (but deadly) partner, Pike, are back. It all begins when Cole is asked to investigate a straight forward case for a woman who feels that her fiancée may be in trouble. It turns out that this is the understatement of the year when Cole is dragged into one of those cover-ups that have made the LAPD famous across the world. A group of renegade police officers, including the girl’s fiancée, ...

The Forgotten Man - Robert Crais
by samueltyler - written on 31/10/06 (Very useful, 63 readings)
Rating:
more introverted plotline we get to understand why Cole is such a dogged detective. Although there is not the action and comedy that is in many of the earlier books its make up for this with pathos and emotion. I would advise first time reader of Crais to read some of the earlier books in the series as ‘The Forgotten Man’ may be too character dependent. However, for fans of Robert Crais, or other crime novel lovers, this is another excellent title by the author. Amazon UK: ...
