It is definitely a chick-lit book and is written as such, but it really is a funny and witty read. I was a bit stuck for authors to try, so I asked my mum to recommend me something I would not normally read to try. She told me that she loves Donna Hay, an Irish author I had never heard of, so I set about getting hold of one of her books. I didn't know which of her novels came first, but I actually chose this one, which coincidentally was Hay's debut novel. It is called "Waiting In The Wings" and was a lovely read from start to finish. The story follows one woman, Annie Mitchell.
