The Way through the Woods, is an Inspector Morse novel. Now I am sure most of you have seen the TV series, which was excellent. How many of you have read the books? To be brief the Morse series features a grumpy but cultured detective in Mr E. Morse, who is widely held to be the best detective in the Thames Valley CID. However, he does not do things by the book, he is a copper that uses inspiration, to make things worse he is nearly an alcoholic and a terrible womaniser. He is more often to be found in the pub, than on duty, but he gets results.
