Although the web has become the focus of much interest in the past couple of years, it was in fact created in the early 90's, by a British computer scientist by the name of Tim Berners-Lee. The Internet had been in existence since the ARPANet of the 60's, yet it was not until the introduction of the world wide web that it became a suitable medium for the general public.
