Advantages: Very easy to read for the complete beginner and yet with enough detail to be a useful reference book for the more experienced Web Designer.

Disadvantages: A few more diagrams/illustrations would help

I bought this book last year when I was relying on templates, provided with free webspace to build my website and it has really changed my outlook on Web Design.

It is a very reader-friendly book and includes everything you need to know about basic or intermediate Web Design in a .....nutshell!

Although I originaly read the book from cover to cover, I find it invaluable as a quick reference guide, when I hit something new. Pages are tabbed by topic to make finding what you want a relatively painless task. In addition to being a very complete guide to HTML, it is also great for information on using multimedia, Cascading Style sheets and graphics on your site. The tutorials within the book, are well worth following in detail.
