Remember the film about the young boy in America who contracted HIV through a blood transfusion? 'Weeding out the tears' is Jeanne White's story about what happened when her son Ryan was diagnosed as HIV Positive, and how they struggled with the prejudice when the disease first came out.
When you read this book, you'll need a pack of tissues handy. As a mother myself, I was amazed at the spirit of this woman and her family - fighting to get Ryan accepted in both school and the community in general. A moving book, especially when she tells of Ryan's death and how the family coped.
If you need a book that makes you realise just how lucky you are, and how things have changed, read this book. Also,if you are HIV positive yourself, or know someone who is, this is the book to give you inspiration.
